MAKING A BRIDGE
Lay your hand flat on the pool table.
Raise your knuckles up at the end of your fingers about 2 inches, keeping all of your fingers together.
For an open bridge take your thumb and stick it up about 45 degrees creating a "V" groove your stick can glide through.
For a closed bridge take your index finger and make a loop joining your thumb. Make the hole created not too tight or loose, but just big enough for the shaft to glide through smoothly.
APPLYING ENGLISH TO A SHOT
Always use only one tip left or right of center for English. Hitting way out on either side won't get you more English, it only makes it tougher to aim. It also will make the cue ball change paths severely.
One tip left or right can give maximum English needed and will help you be more consistent.
